The Government of Punjab State has come up with a Health Insurance initiative known as Punjab Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana, in which the Government aims to provide health insurance to all the eligible citizens of Punjab State. Beneficiaries can avail of cashless treatments across all Government and Private Hospitals in this initiative. The Government will provide a Sehat Card to all the citizens who have been selected under this initiative, and beneficiaries can use it to avail of cashless treatments. About Punjab Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana
This Punjab Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana is an upgraded version of an old initiative, Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana, that was launched on August 20, 2019, and recently, on 8th July the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, has relaunched this initiative as Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana. Under this initiative, the Government aims to provide citizens a health insurance of up to INR 10 Lakhs annually to all the 65 Lakh families in Punjab State. The Government will provide citizens a Sehat Card which can be used to avail cashless treatments across all the Government and private hospitals across the Punjab State.
The Government will provide health insurance of INR 10 Lakh per annum to all the citizens of Punjab State. As per the reports stated by the Officials, authorities have allocated a total budget of INR 778 Crores for the implementation of this scheme.
The objective of the Punjab Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana
The main objective behind the Punjab Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana is to provide health insurance facilities to all the citizens of the Punjab state from all income groups. According to this scheme, the Government aims to provide health insurance of INR 10 lakh annually to all the 65 Lakh families in Punjab state. With the help of this scheme, the citizens will be able to avail of cashless treatments of INR 10 lakh annually in both Government and Private hospitals listed under this scheme. This initiative covers approximately 2000 diseases, including pre-hospitalisation (3 Days) Post post-hospitalization (15 Days) expenses.

- All those citizens who want to apply under this Punjab Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana have to visit the Official Website at beneficiary.nha.gov.in
- Now you have to get logged in by using your registered mobile number and entering the OTP, or if you are a new user, you have to do registration first.
- After that, you have to do eKYC & Verification by entering your Aadhar Number and OTP along with kyc process.
- After that, you have to add family members’ names in the Sehat card form.
- At Last, you successfully verify and complete, you can generate and download your eCard.
