About PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Scheme

The Finance Minister of India, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, has announced this farmers’ welfare initiative during the Union Budget presentation on February 1, 2025, and the Union Government has officially approved this initiative on 16th July, 2025. According to this scheme, the Government aims to enhance Agricultural Productivity through better farming practices & techniques, along with crop diversification, Sustainable Agriculture, enhanced Irrigation facilities with better post-harvest storage at the Panchayat & Block Levels, along with providing short-term credit benefits to all the farmers.

This Scheme is aimed at providing benefits to about 1.6 Crores of Farmers across India, and this initiative will target 100 Districts in India, selecting one district from each state & Union Territory. The Government will choose districts based on their low agricultural practices and not having proper agricultural methods and techniques. As per the reports stated by the Government, this initiative will be implemented in 6 years, and the budget allocated for 6 Years is INR 24,000 Crore.
